KTA Tenaga sdn bhd was established in January 1993, as a result of an equal merger between two Malaysian engineering consultancy firms viz. Kumarasivam, Tan & Ariffin Sdn Bhd and Tenaga Ewbank Preece (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. It is a wholly Malaysian owned Company with majority bumiputra shareholders. KTA Tenaga has a total staff strength of over 210 personnel with qualified and experienced engineers in chemical, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, environmental, civil and structural engineering. KTA Tenaga has an authorised and paid-up capital of RM10 million.

     Kumarasivam, Tan & Ariffin founded in 1965, was primarily involved in civil & structural engineering, environmental engineering and building services. The practice of Tenaga Ewbank Preece centered around electric power generation, transmission and distribution, environmental, process, mechanical and electrical/instrumentation engineering consultancy in the oil & gas, petrochemical and industrial sectors. With the combined resources and the resulting synergy, KTA Tenaga is poised to undertakes major engineering projects, both in Malaysia and in the region.
